Mary Skow
Mary Skow holds a BS Ed from Abilene Christian University and taught the first grade at St. Thomas ELC for 13 years before retiring from teaching in 2007. Since that time she has served as a Developmental Assessment Consultant and as the Assistant to the Head of School at St. Thomas. In 2010, she assumed the position as Interim, before being named as Head of School in 2011. Mary is married to Loren Skow, a TAMU Professor, and they have two sons and two daughter-in-laws, and two sweet grandbabies. They enjoy their Colorado cabin during the hot Texas summers. Mary also enjoys watercolor painting and finds time to teach a few art classes to the children at St. Thomas ELC and to private art students in her home. “Being a part of the St. Thomas community has been a blessing in my life. I appreciate the way the teachers integrate all aspects of teaching the whole child by showing respect to each child and their family. I love it that St. Thomas is a gentle school and is a place where children are allowed to discover learning at their own pace in a relaxed environment.
